Handling Debt - Practical Advice
October 6th, 2007 | by getapayday |In the past weeks, we have been looking at different solutions to debt. They are all workable and have been tried and tested throughout the years. However, I do realise that they may seem daunting to some people, especially those who never have handled similar situations before.
One thing I can say, though, is to seek help whenever you feel that you cannot cope with your debt problem alone. In line with this, I do not believe in having to pay someone you don’t know to help you solve your problems. Think about it, you are already in financial trouble. Where are you getting your money to pay someone to sort it all out?
Lucky for us, there are people who really do want to help those with debt problems. I have mentioned the Citizens Advice Bureau several times – I would strongly suggest approaching them first. You can also approach the Consumer Credit Counselling Service. Just like the CAB, they are a registered non-profit organization so you can be sure that they are not out to get more money from you. At the same time you can be sure that the advice you will be receiving is professional and objective.
Another charity that helps people deal with debt is Payplan. They are based in Grantham, Lincolnshire but they cater to people all over the UK. With years of experience in dealing with debt solutions for various people, Payplan will surely be able to help you out in your specific situation – for free.
