Rules of Christmas Shopping

I know it’s just a few weeks before Christmas but here are some last minute thoughts on shopping.

Get everything down on paper
- or your PDA for that matter.  You probably have a Christmas gift list already but do not forget to write down even the tiny things that you need to buy for Christmas.  Gift wrappers, ribbons, cards, tape, glue – whatever you need that is associated with Christmas, write it down so you don’t forget.

No impulse buying
This is what’s going to kill you.  Even if you have all that extra cash from a payday loan, if you give in to your impulses, you are going to find out that you do not have enough money to get everything on your list.  Stay away from the bright flashing lights that say “sale” if that item is not on your list.  If you have money left over, then that is the only time I suggest you get something not on your list.

Can’t resist using the credit card?
Then try to stick with one.  Leave your other cards at home.  If you go ahead and use all of them at the same time, you just might find yourself in a very sticky situation after the holiday season.  You just might be surprised at how fast the festive spirit can disappear once you see all your holiday bills.
